Synopsis/Plot

Devotion is a 2021 drama film directed by Hong Kong filmmaker Eddie Wong and starring Deanie Ip, Philip Keung, and Hugo Ng.

The film follows the story of a middle-aged couple, Yiu-Fai (Philip Keung) and Po-Wing (Deanie Ip), who have been married for twenty-five years. They live in a small apartment in Hong Kong and are struggling to make ends meet. Yiu-Fai is a taxi driver and Po-Wing works in a factory. Despite their financial struggles, the couple remain devoted to each other and have a deep bond.

When Po-Wing is diagnosed with a terminal illness, Yiu-Fai is determined todo whatever it takes to make her last days as comfortable as possible. He takes out a loan to pay for her medical treatments, and works extra shifts to make ends meet. The couple rediscover their love for each other and cherish the time they have left. As Po-Wing’s health deteriorates, Yiu-Fai is determined to make her last days as meaningful as possible, showing her the beauty of life and the power of love.
