Synopsis – What to Expect from “Despite the Falling Snow”
Despite the Falling Snow is a 2016 romantic drama set in 1950s Moscow, Russia. The story follows Katya, a young woman who is working as a spy for the American government. She is tasked with infiltrating the inner circle of a powerful Russian politician, Alexander, in order to gain access to confidential information.
Katya is successful in her mission and eventually falls in love with Alexander. However, their relationship is complicated by the fact that Katya is married to Vasili, a KGB officer who is unaware of her double life. As Katya and Alexander’s love grows, Katya is faced with a difficult choice: remain loyal to her husband or follow her heart.
The story then jumps to present day, where Katya’s niece, Lauren, is researching her aunt’s life. As she uncovers secrets from Katya’s past, she discovers that Katya’s story is much more complicated than she thought. She soon finds herself on a journey to uncover the truth about her aunt’s life and her relationship with Alexander.
