Synopsis – What to Expect from “Deranged”
Deranged is a 1974 horror film directed by Jeff Gillen and Alan Ormsby. The movie follows the story of Ezra Cobb, a disturbed and reclusive farmer living in rural Wisconsin. After his mother passes away, Ezra begins to exhibit strange and violent behavior.
The film begins with Ezra being visited by his old friend, Sheriff George Waggner. After noticing Ezra’s strange behavior, the Sheriff begins to investigate the strange occurrences in the area. It soon becomes clear that Ezra has been killing and burying his victims in the woods near his farm.
The Sheriff and his deputy, Pete, soon discover a makeshift graveyard in the woods, and they begin to piece together the truth about Ezra’s murderous behavior. With the help of a local psychiatrist, they also begin to uncover the dark secrets of Ezra’s past.
As the investigation continues, Ezra’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic and violent. He begins to stalk the local women, and his obsession with a young girl named Mary leads him to commit more heinous crimes.
The Sheriff and his team eventually capture Ezra, and he is taken away to a mental institution. However, Ezra’s madness continues to haunt the town, and it is only through the help of Mary and her family that the town can finally find peace.
