Synopsis – What to Expect from “Derailed”
Derailed is a psychological thriller directed by Mikael Håfström, released in 2002. The movie follows the story of Charles Schine, a successful businessman who is happily married with two kids. One day, while waiting for his train to work, he meets Lucinda Harris, a mysterious woman who seems to have a lot of secrets. They start talking and Charles is soon attracted to her.
One evening, they decide to have dinner together and things take a turn for the worse when they are attacked by two men. Charles is knocked out and Lucinda is raped. The two criminals steal Charles’ wallet and leave them behind.
Charles is then blackmailed by the criminals and is forced to commit a series of robberies. He is desperate to protect his family and his reputation, so he reluctantly agrees. However, things get out of hand when the robberies get more dangerous and the criminals become increasingly violent.
Charles is soon on the run from the police and is desperately trying to protect his family. He must find a way to bring down the criminals and save his family before it’s too late.
