Synopsis/Plot
Deadwood: The Movie is a 2019 American Western television film directed by Daniel Minahan. It is a continuation of the HBO television series of the same name, which ran from 2004 to 2006. Set in 1889, the movie follows the residents of the town of Deadwood, South Dakota, as they prepare for the statehood of the Dakota Territory.
The movie follows the main characters of the original series, such as Seth Bullock (Timothy Olyphant), Alma Garret (Molly Parker), and Al Swearengen (Ian McShane), as they face the changes that are coming to the town. As the townspeople grapple with the prospect of statehood, they must also come to terms with the consequences of the past and the challenges of the future.
The movie also brings back a host of other characters, including the powerful saloon owner Cy Tolliver (Powers Boothe), the ambitious entrepreneur E.B. Farnum (William Sanderson), and the enigmatic prospector Sol Star (John Hawkes). As the townspeople grapple with the changes that come with statehood, they must also confront the consequences of their past and the challenges of their future.
