Synopsis – What to Expect from “Date With an Angel”
Date With an Angel is a romantic comedy released in 1987. It follows the story of Jim Sanders, a young businessman who is about to marry the daughter of his boss. On the night before his wedding, Jim has a wild dream in which he rescues an angel from a burning building. The next morning, Jim wakes up to find that the angel from his dream is real, and is now living in his pool house.
Jim is initially terrified of the angel, but as they spend more time together, they gradually become close friends. Jim discovers that the angel, named Emma, has no memory of her past life and is unable to return to Heaven. As they explore the city together, they begin to fall in love.
Meanwhile, Jim’s fiancée, Jennifer, is becoming increasingly suspicious of the time Jim is spending with Emma. She begins to suspect that Jim is having an affair and hires a private investigator to follow him. When Jennifer discovers the truth about Emma, she is furious and demands that Jim choose between her and the angel.
Jim is faced with an impossible decision: marry the woman he loves, or remain with the angel who has captured his heart. In the end, Jim chooses love and decides to marry Emma. Together, they fly away into the night, leaving Jennifer behind.
