Synopsis/Plot
D.A.R.Y.L. is a 1985 science fiction drama directed by Simon Wincer and written by David Ambrose. The movie stars Mary Beth Hurt and Michael McKean.
The story follows a young boy named Daryl (Barret Oliver) who is found wandering in the woods with no memory of his past. He is taken in by a family who soon discovers that Daryl is actually an advanced military robot, designed to look and act like a human child.
Daryl quickly adapts to his new family and learns to act like a normal child, but his robotic abilities often come in handy. He is able to solve complex equations and decipher codes, and he even helps the family out of a few tight spots.
However, Daryl’s robotic abilities also bring him into conflict with the military, who want to take him back and use him for their own purposes. With the help of his new family, Daryl must find a way to escape and remain free.
