Synopsis/Plot
Dark Shadows is a 2012 American horror-comedy film directed by Tim Burton, based on the gothic television soap opera of the same name. It stars Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins, a 200-year-old vampire who is released from his tomb and returns to his ancestral home, Collinwood Manor, to find it in disarray. He soon discovers that his once-wealthy family is now in dire financial straits and that his once-beloved home is now plagued by supernatural forces.
Barnabas soon learns that the source of the supernatural forces is Angelique Bouchard, a powerful witch who is determined to exact revenge on him for breaking her heart centuries ago. Barnabas must now find a way to protect his family and restore his home to its former glory, while also dealing with the various supernatural creatures, such as werewolves, ghosts, and vampires, that now inhabit the estate.
The film also stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Eva Green, Jackie Earle Haley, Jonny Lee Miller, Chloë Grace Moretz, Bella Heathcote, and Gulliver McGrath. The film received generally positive reviews from critics
