Synopsis/Plot
Dante’s Peak is a 1997 action-adventure disaster film directed by Roger Donaldson and starring Pierce Brosnan and Linda Hamilton. The film follows vulcanologist Dr. Harry Dalton (Brosnan) who is sent to the small mountain town of Dante’s Peak to investigate the recent rumblings of the nearby volcano. Upon arriving, Harry discovers that the town is in danger of an imminent eruption and must race against time to save the residents from the impending disaster.
The film opens with Harry being sent to Dante’s Peak to investigate the seismic activity that has been occurring. Upon arriving, he meets the mayor, Rachel Wando (Hamilton), who is skeptical of his warnings. Harry discovers that the town is built directly on top of the volcano and is in danger of a major eruption. With the help of Rachel, Harry begins to evacuate the town and try to save as many people as possible.
Meanwhile, the volcano continues to rumble and lava begins to spew out of the mountain. Harry and Rachel must battle fire, ash, and lava in order to save the town. As the disaster intensifies, Harry and Rachel must find a way to survive the eruption and save the town.
