The film follows Dwayne McLaren (Liam Hemsworth), a young man living in the small town of Cut Bank, Montana. Dwayne dreams of getting out of Cut Bank and making a better life for himself, but his plans are complicated when an unexpected event occurs.
When Dwayne’s friend, a postman named Georgie (John Malkovich), accidentally mails a letter that contains a large sum of money, a series of events are set in motion that could change Dwayne’s life forever. Dwayne and Georgie are pursued by a ruthless sheriff (Billy Bob Thornton) and a mysterious hitman (Bruce Dern) who are determined to get the money back.
