Synopsis – What to Expect from “Crimes of Passion”
Crimes of Passion is a 1984 drama/thriller film directed by Ken Russell and starring Kathleen Turner, Anthony Perkins, and John Laughlin.
The film follows the story of a fashion designer named Joanna Crane (Kathleen Turner), who is leading a double life. By day, she is a successful designer, but by night she takes on the persona of a prostitute named China Blue.
Joanna meets a conservative and religious man named Bobby Grady (Anthony Perkins). Bobby is instantly smitten with Joanna and the two begin a passionate affair. However, Bobby is unaware of Joanna’s secret life as China Blue.
Meanwhile, a private detective named Pete (John Laughlin) is hired by Joanna’s jealous ex-boyfriend, a rich businessman named Zack (Ana Obregón). Zack is convinced that Joanna is cheating on him and hires Pete to investigate her.
Pete discovers Joanna’s double life and confronts her. Joanna is forced to choose between her two lives and the affections of Bobby and Zack. With the danger of Pete’s investigation looming, she must decide which path she will take.
