Synopsis/Plot
Convoy is a 1978 action-adventure film starring Kris Kristofferson, Ali MacGraw, Ernest Borgnine, and Burt Young. Directed by Sam Peckinpah, the film follows a group of independent truckers as they battle a corrupt sheriff and his henchmen.
The story begins in the Arizona desert, where truck driver Martin “Rubber Duck” Penwald (Kristofferson) is transporting a load of beer. He is stopped by Sheriff Lyle “Cottonmouth” Wallace (Borgnine) and his men, who demand a kickback for allowing the truck to pass. Rubber Duck refuses, and Wallace threatens to impound the truck.
Meanwhile, Rubber Duck’s friend, Pig Pen (Young), is transporting a load of illegal cigarettes. He, too, is stopped by Wallace and his men, but unlike Rubber Duck, Pig Pen pays the bribe.
Furious at the injustice, Rubber Duck rallies a group of truckers to form a convoy. The convoy consists of a ragtag group of independent truckers, including Rubber Duck, Pig Pen, and his girlfriend, Melinda (MacGraw). The convoy is pursued by Wallace and his men, who
