Synopsis – What to Expect from “Consenting Adults”
Consenting Adults is a 1992 American thriller/mystery film directed by Alan J. Pakula and starring Kevin Kline, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and Kevin Spacey.
The story centers on Richard Parker (Kline), a suburbanite who is content with his life and happy marriage to Priscilla (Mastrantonio). Richard and Priscilla have been married for several years and have a daughter, Julie (Rebecca Miller).
One day, Richard meets Eddy Otis (Spacey), a mysterious stranger who moves into the house next door. Richard and Eddy quickly become friends, and Eddy begins to influence Richard’s life in ways that Richard could never have imagined.
Richard and Priscilla soon find themselves embroiled in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with Eddy, as he begins to manipulate them and their marriage. It becomes apparent that Eddy is not who he seems, and that he has a hidden agenda.
