Synopsis – What to Expect from “Comedian”
Comedian is a 2002 American comedy-drama film directed by Christian Charles and starring Jerry Seinfeld and Orny Adams. The film follows the lives of two stand-up comedians, Jerry Seinfeld and Orny Adams, as they attempt to make it big in the world of stand-up comedy.
The film begins with Jerry Seinfeld performing a stand-up set in a comedy club. After his performance, he meets up with Orny Adams, another aspiring comic. The two hit it off and become fast friends, and Jerry takes Orny under his wing and helps him to develop his own stand-up routine.
The film follows each of the comics as they try to make it in the comedy world. Jerry is already a well-known comic, but Orny is still struggling to find his voice and break out of the pack. As they both try to make their way, they face rejection and criticism from the comedy world.
Jerry and Orny are soon invited to perform on the popular late-night talk show, Late Night with David Letterman. While Jerry’s set is well-received, Orny’s set is a disaster, and he is humiliated by the audience and the show’s host.
