Synopsis/Plot
Collateral is a 2004 crime thriller directed by Michael Mann and starring Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx. The story follows Max (Cruise), a cab driver in Los Angeles who finds himself caught up in a night of violence when he unwittingly agrees to drive a hitman, Vincent (Foxx), around town. With his life on the line, Max is forced to help Vincent carry out a series of hits in exchange for his freedom.
The movie follows Max as he navigates his way through the night, trying to stay alive while also trying to protect the innocent people he encounters. Along the way, he forms a bond with Vincent, who begins to open up to him and explain his motivations for being a hitman. As the night progresses, Max and Vincent become increasingly intertwined in each other’s lives, and Max must make a difficult decision when it comes time to choose between helping Vincent and protecting the innocent.
