Synopsis – What to Expect from “Coffee & Kareem”
Coffee & Kareem is a 2020 action-comedy film starring Ed Helms, Taraji P. Henson, Betty Gilpin, and Terrence Little Gardenhigh. The film follows the story of 12-year-old Kareem Manning (Gardenhigh) who is forced to team up with his mother’s (Henson) new boyfriend, James Coffee (Helms), a police officer, to protect his family from an dangerous criminal.
Kareem is a wise-cracking kid who can’t stand the idea of his mother dating a cop. To make matters worse, his mother’s new boyfriend is James Coffee, a police officer who is determined to win her heart. Despite his reluctance, Kareem is forced to team up with Coffee when a dangerous criminal from Coffee’s past, Clipper (RonReaco Lee), comes looking for revenge. Clipper and his crew are determined to take out Coffee, and they will stop at nothing to get to him.
Kareem and Coffee must put their differences aside and work together to protect their family and take down Clipper. Along the way, they must contend with a local gang, a corrupt police force, and a relentless bounty hunter. As they fight their way through the criminal underworld, Coffee and Kareem must rely on each other to survive.
