Synopsis/Plot
Cloverfield is a 2008 American found-footage monster horror film directed by Matt Reeves, produced by J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk, and written by Drew Goddard. The film follows five young New Yorkers attending a going-away party on the night a gigantic monster attacks the city. The film stars T.J. Miller, Lizzy Caplan, Jessica Lucas, Michael Stahl-David, Mike Vogel, and Odette Annable.
The film opens with a party for Rob Hawkins (Michael Stahl-David) who is moving to Japan for a job. As the party progresses, a mysterious tremor shakes the building and outside, an enormous creature is destroying the city. Rob, his brother Jason (Mike Vogel), and his friends Lily (Jessica Lucas), Marlena (Lizzy Caplan), and Hud (T.J. Miller) flee from the monster and attempt to make their way to safety. As they fight their way through the chaos, they must also battle their own personal demons and fears.
