Synopsis – What to Expect from “Class Act”
Class Act is a 1992 American comedy film starring Kid ‘N Play and directed by Randall Miller.
The film follows two high school seniors, Duncan Pinderhughes (Kid) and Blade Brown (Play), who are complete opposites. Duncan is a straight-laced, over-achieving honor student, while Blade is a class clown and underachiever.
When Duncan’s parents are called away on business, they ask Blade to keep an eye on their son, and he reluctantly agrees. However, when the school principal, Mr. Cantwell (Christopher Reid), discovers that Blade is living with Duncan, he forces them to switch identities. Duncan must pretend to be Blade, and Blade must pretend to be Duncan.
At first, the two teens struggle to adjust to their new roles, but eventually they learn to work together to make it through the school year. They must also deal with the school’s resident bully, Stork (John Witherspoon), who is determined to make their lives miserable.
Meanwhile, Duncan and Blade discover that they have more in common than they thought, and they become close friends. With the help of their friends, they are able to overcome their differences and prove to Mr. Cantwell that they can succeed in their new roles.
In the end, Duncan and Blade are able to prove that they are both Class Acts.
