Synopsis/Plot
Christmas with the Kranks is a 2004 American comedy film directed by Joe Roth and starring Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Dan Aykroyd, and Erik Per Sullivan. The film is based on the 2001 novel Skipping Christmas by John Grisham.
The story follows the Krank family as they decide to skip Christmas celebrations due to their daughter, Blair, being away for the holidays. However, their plan is foiled when Blair unexpectedly returns home, forcing the Kranks to scramble to put together a last-minute Christmas celebration.
The Kranks are an average American family living in a suburban neighborhood. Luther Krank is a middle-aged man who is tired of the same old Christmas traditions and decides to take a year off from celebrating. His wife, Nora, reluctantly agrees, but is quickly met with opposition from their neighbors, led by Vic Frohmeyer.
The Kranks are determined to enjoy their newfound freedom, but their plans are quickly derailed when Blair calls to tell them that she is coming home for Christmas. The Kranks scramble to put together a last-minute Christmas celebration, but their efforts are met with resistance from their neighbors.
