Synopsis – What to Expect from “Christmas Evil”
Christmas Evil is a 1980 horror-comedy film directed by Lewis Jackson. It tells the story of Harry Stadling, a disillusioned toymaker who becomes obsessed with the idea that Santa Claus is real.
The film opens with a young Harry Stadling (Brandon Maggart) watching his parents argue about Santa Claus. His father insists that Santa is not real, while his mother insists that he is. This argument leaves Harry with a deep-seated confusion and uncertainty about the existence of Santa Claus.
Years later, Harry (now played by Maggart) is a grown man and the owner of a toy factory. He is still haunted by his childhood confusion and decides to prove to himself that Santa is real. He begins to dress up as Santa and secretly deliver presents to children.
At first, Harry’s mission brings him joy, but soon his obsession with Santa begins to take a darker turn. He begins to stalk children who are naughty and punish them. He also begins to spy on adults who he believes have been naughty, and even goes so far as to break into their homes.
Harry’s obsession with Santa reaches its climax when he attempts to kidnap a young girl on Christmas Eve. He is stopped by the girl’s parents and is arrested.
In the end, Harry is sent to a mental institution where he is able to come to terms with his childhood confusion about Santa and his own mental illness. He is finally able to
