Synopsis – What to Expect from “Chopper”
Chopper is a crime drama film released in 2000. It tells the story of Mark “Chopper” Read, an Australian criminal who gained notoriety for his violent behavior and his ability to survive numerous attempts on his life.
The movie begins with Chopper (Eric Bana) in prison, where he is serving a long sentence for armed robbery. He is a notorious criminal who has a reputation for being unpredictable and violent. In prison, he meets a young man named Jimmy Loughnan (Simon Lyndon), who is serving time for a minor offense. Jimmy is fascinated by Chopper’s criminal lifestyle and begins to idolize him.
One day, Chopper is released from prison and Jimmy is eager to follow in his footsteps. He joins Chopper in a life of crime and the two quickly become inseparable. Chopper is determined to make a name for himself in the criminal underworld and begins to make a series of daring robberies and other illegal activities.
Meanwhile, Chopper’s former associates in the criminal underworld are wary of his return and are determined to take him out. They hire a hitman to kill Chopper, but he is able to survive the attack. This only fuels Chopper’s desire to become the most feared criminal in Melbourne.
The movie follows Chopper as he continues to make a name for himself in the criminal underworld and his attempts to stay one step ahead of his enemies. Along the way, he must also confront his own demons
