Synopsis – What to Expect from “China Moon”
China Moon is a psychological thriller set in the small town of China Moon, Texas. It follows the story of Sheriff Kyle Bodine (Ed Harris) and his deputy, Rachel Munro (Madeleine Stowe).
Sheriff Bodine is a no-nonsense lawman who is trying to keep the peace in a town full of secrets. When a young woman, Emma (Rachel Ward), is found brutally murdered, Sheriff Bodine and Rachel become embroiled in a complex investigation.
The investigation leads them to Emma’s mysterious lover, Ramon (Benicio Del Toro), a mysterious drifter with a dark past. As the investigation progresses, Sheriff Bodine and Rachel become increasingly suspicious of Ramon’s involvement in the murder.
Meanwhile, Sheriff Bodine’s own troubled past begins to haunt him as his relationship with Rachel intensifies. As the investigation continues, the truth about Emma’s murder slowly begins to unravel.
