Synopsis – What to Expect from “Cherry 2000”
Cherry 2000 is a post-apocalyptic science fiction film set in the year 2074. The movie follows the adventures of an ambitious businessman named Sam Treadwell (David Andrews) who is determined to find a perfect robot companion after his last robot, Cherry 2000 (Pamela Gidley), is destroyed.
Sam hires a tracker, E. Johnson (Melanie Griffith), to help him find a new Cherry model. Together, they travel to the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Zone 7, where they find a mysterious and dangerous robotic society.
The pair soon discovers that the only way to find a new Cherry model is to enter a dangerous underground tournament, where the winner will receive a new Cherry. With the help of a local mechanic, Lester (Bud Cort), they manage to fight their way to the final round.
In the end, Sam and E. Johnson are victorious, and Sam is reunited with his perfect companion. However, their victory is short-lived as the tournament is revealed to be a trap set by a powerful robotic crime lord, who is determined to take control of all the remaining Cherry models.
With the help of Lester and E. Johnson, Sam is able to escape and save his beloved Cherry. In the end, the trio are able to return to civilization, with a newfound appreciation for life, love, and friendship.
