Synopsis/Plot
Charley Varrick is a classic crime caper from 1973 starring Walter Matthau as the titular character. Charley is a small-time crook who, along with his friend and partner, Harman Sullivan (Joe Don Baker), robs a bank in a small town in New Mexico. Little do they know, the bank is actually a front for a mob-run operation, and they have stolen far more money than they expected.
Furious, the mob sends a professional hitman, Molly (Jacqueline Scott), to track down the robbers and retrieve the money. Charley and Harman soon realize that they are in way over their heads and must use their wits to outsmart the mob and stay alive.
Charley Varrick is a thrilling and suspenseful film that follows Charley and Harman as they attempt to evade the mob and keep the money for themselves. Along the way, they must confront the dangerous and powerful forces that are chasing them, as well as the moral dilemmas that arise from their actions. The film features a great cast, including John Vernon as the mob boss, and Andrew Robinson as a cop who is trying to catch Charley and Harman.
