Synopsis – What to Expect from “Cemetery Junction”
Cemetery Junction is a coming-of-age comedy-drama set in the 1970s. The film follows three working-class friends, Freddie (Christian Cooke), Bruce (Tom Hughes) and Snork (Jack Doolan), as they navigate through life in a small British town.
Freddie is a rebellious and ambitious young man who dreams of a better life and is determined to make something of himself. He works as a door-to-door insurance salesman but is looking for something more. Bruce is a more laid-back character, content with his job as a swimming pool attendant and his life in the town. Snork is a shy and awkward young man who struggles to find his place in the world.
When Freddie’s boss, Mr. Kendrick (Ralph Fiennes), offers him a promotion, Freddie jumps at the chance. He is determined to make something of himself and to get out of the town. But Bruce and Snork are not so eager to leave and they become increasingly frustrated with Freddie’s ambition.
Meanwhile, Freddie starts to fall for Julie (Felicity Jones), the daughter of Mr. Kendrick. As their relationship develops, Freddie begins to realise that his dreams may not be as easy to achieve as he first thought.
The three friends find themselves at a crossroads, struggling to decide between their ambitions and their loyalty to each other. As their lives take them in different directions, they must decide what is truly important
