Synopsis – What to Expect from “Carry On Cruising”
Carry On Cruising follows the misadventures of the crew of the S.S. Happy Wanderer, a cruise ship captained by the bumbling Sid Fiddler (Sidney James). Sid is determined to make the cruise a success, but his efforts are continually thwarted by a series of mishaps.
The voyage begins with Sid’s crew being forced to abandon ship after a storm, leaving the passengers stranded on a nearby island. With the help of the island’s eccentric inhabitants, the crew is able to get the ship back on course.
Unfortunately, things don’t get any easier for Sid and his crew. From a giant octopus to a band of pirates, the cruise is filled with unexpected obstacles. Sid’s crew must use their wits and ingenuity to overcome each challenge and get the passengers back to civilization.
Meanwhile, romance is in the air as a number of passengers find love aboard the S.S. Happy Wanderer. Sid’s assistant, the beautiful and feisty Joan (Joan Sims), catches the eye of a handsome passenger, while the ship’s chef, Charlie (Kenneth Williams), finds himself smitten with a lovely passenger.
In the end, the crew must face their greatest challenge yet: a giant tidal wave threatening to sink the ship. With their courage and resourcefulness, the crew is able to save the day and get the passengers safely back to shore.
