Synopsis/Plot
Carrie is a classic horror film released in 1976 based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King. The movie follows the story of Carrie White, a shy, awkward teenage girl who is constantly ridiculed and bullied by her classmates. She has been raised by her overly religious mother, Margaret, and has no friends or confidants.
One day, after a particularly cruel prank is played on her in the school showers, Carrie discovers she has telekinetic powers. She can move objects with her mind, and soon finds she can use her powers to exact revenge on her tormentors.
Meanwhile, Carrie’s mother begins to have visions of an apocalyptic future, and becomes even more oppressive and controlling. As the prom night approachesCarrie’s peers plan to embarrass her at the prom by naming her Prom Queen and then dousing her in pig’s blood. However, Carrie has other plans and uses her telekinetic powers to turn the tables on her peers. Her powers cause the entire school to be destroyed in a fiery explosion, killing many of her classmates in the process. In the end, Carrie is left alone and traumatized, realizing the full extent of her powers.
