Synopsis/Plot
Call Jane is a powerful and inspiring drama about a group of women in the 1960s who band together to fight for their right to access safe and legal abortions. Set in Chicago, the film follows Jane, a young working-class woman who finds herself unexpectedly pregnant. With no access to safe and legal abortion services, Jane and her friends decide to take matters into their own hands and form the Jane Collective, a secret underground network that provides abortions to women in need. Through the Collective, Jane and her friends risk their lives to provide safe and legal abortions to women in need, and in the process, they become a powerful force for change in their community. The film follows Jane and her friends as they face personal and professional risks to help womenseeking abortions. As the women face the consequences of their actions, they also experience moments of joy and triumph as they fight for their right to control their own bodies and make their own choices. With its powerful story and strong female characters, Call Jane is a must-see film for anyone interested in the fight for women’s rights and the struggle for reproductive justice.
