Synopsis – What to Expect from “Butterfly”
Butterfly is a 1982 romantic drama directed by Matt Cimber and starring Stacy Keach, Pia Zadora, and Orson Welles. The movie tells the story of an emotionally unstable widow, Jessie (Pia Zadora), who falls in love with a drifter, Kady (Stacy Keach).
Jessie and Kady meet in a small town in California and quickly fall in love. As their relationship progresses, Jessie’s possessive and controlling husband, Archibald (Orson Welles), begins to suspect their affair. He begins to threaten Kady and attempts to control Jessie’s every move.
Archibald’s attempts to control Jessie are unsuccessful, and he eventually leaves the town. Jessie and Kady continue their relationship and plan to marry. However, their plans are thwarted by Archibald, who returns and attempts to take Jessie away.
Kady and Jessie are forced to flee and make their way across the country, pursued by Archibald. Along the way, Kady and Jessie’s relationship grows stronger, and they eventually realize that their love for each other is stronger than anything else.
The couple eventually reaches Mexico, where they marry and start a new life together. However, their happiness is short-lived when Archibald tracks them down and attempts to take Jessie away once again. Kady and Jessie must fight for their love and freedom in a climactic confrontation. In the end
