Bus Stop is a romantic comedy-drama directed by Joshua Logan and released in 1956. It stars Marilyn Monroe, Don Murray, and Arthur O’Connell.
The movie follows Cherie (Marilyn Monroe), a young and naive woman who works as a nightclub singer in Phoenix, Arizona. She dreams of leaving her small town and making it big in Hollywood. One night, a handsome and charming cowboy named Bo (Don Murray) comes into the club and sweeps her off her feet. Bo is determined to take Cherie to Montana, where he wants to marry her.
Cherie is hesitant to accept Bo’s marriage proposal, so he takes her to the bus station and forces her to get on the bus. As they travel, they grow closer and Cherie begins to fall in love with Bo.
At a bus stop in Wyoming, Bo meets a young woman named Elma (Hope Lange). Elma is a college student who is on her way to visit her aunt in Montana. She is intrigued by Bo and his relationship with Cherie and decides to join them on their journey.
As the three travel together, they grow even closer and Elma begins to fall in love with Bo as well. Eventually, Bo and Cherie reach Montana and Bo reveals that he is actually married with children.
Cherie is heartbroken and decides to stay in Montana, while Bo and Elma continue on to her aunt’s house. When
