Synopsis – What to Expect from “Burke & Hare”
Burke & Hare is a 2010 dark comedy film set in Edinburgh, Scotland during the early 19th century. The film follows two Irish immigrants, William Burke and William Hare, as they find themselves in a desperate situation. With Burke in debt and Hare struggling to make ends meet, the two men resort to grave-robbing to make money. When their graves are quickly depleted, Burke and Hare come up with a more lucrative plan: they will provide fresh corpses to the local medical school.
The film follows the two men as they embark on a murderous spree, killing unsuspecting victims and selling their bodies to the medical school. As their business becomes increasingly successful, Burke and Hare become increasingly paranoid, especially when the authorities begin to close in on them. In a desperate attempt to save themselves, the two men turn to the help of a local madam, Madame Fanny. With her help, they are able to evade capture and continue their business.
However, Burke and Hare eventually find themselves in over their heads, as they become the targets of the police and the public. As the two men face the consequences of their actions, they must come to terms with the consequences of their choices. In the end, Burke and Hare must decide whether they will continue to pursue their dark business or face justice for their crimes.
