Synopsis/Plot
Broken City is a 2013 American crime thriller starring Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. The film follows Billy Taggart (Wahlberg), an ex-cop who is hired by the mayor of New York City (Crowe) to investigate his wife’s (Zeta-Jones) infidelity. Taggart soon discovers a far-reaching conspiracy involving the mayor, his political advisors, and a shady real estate developer. As he gets deeper into the case, Taggart finds himself in the middle of a power struggle between the mayor and his political enemies, all of whom are determined to take him down. With the help of a journalist (Jeffrey Wright) and a former colleague (Barry Pepper), Taggart uncovers a web of corruption and deceit that threatens to bring the city to its knees. With his life in danger, he must choose between justice and survival. Broken City is a fast-paced, gripping thriller with a stellar cast that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
