Synopsis/Plot
Brüno is a 2009 British-American mockumentary comedy film directed by Larry Charles and starring Sacha Baron Cohen. The film follows the exploits of a flamboyant Austrian fashion journalist, Brüno, as he attempts to become famous in the United States.
Brüno begins with Brüno being fired from his job as a fashion journalist for a magazine in Austria. After a failed attempt to become a celebrity in Europe, he decides to move to the United States to become a celebrity. He begins his journey in Los Angeles, where he creates a fictitious talk show and interviews celebrities. He then moves to Texas, where he attempts to become a celebrity by appearing on a local television show and attempting to adopt an African-American child.
He then moves to a small town in Arkansas, where he attempts to become a country music star. After a disastrous performance at a local bar, he is forced to leave town. He then moves to a small town in Alabama, where he attempts to join a local church and become a preacher. After a failed attempt to convert a gay couple, he is forced to leave town.
