Synopsis – What to Expect from “Bringing Down the House”
Bringing Down the House is a 2003 comedy starring Steve Martin and Queen Latifah.
The movie follows Peter Sanderson (Steve Martin), a workaholic lawyer who is recently divorced and struggling to connect with his two children. One day, he meets Charlene (Queen Latifah), an escaped convict who has broken out of prison to prove her innocence. As Peter gets to know Charlene, he is surprised to find that she is actually quite intelligent and funny, and he begins to develop feelings for her.
The two team up to prove Charlene’s innocence, and along the way they encounter a variety of characters, including Peter’s ex-wife, a shady lawyer, and a group of mobsters. As they work together, their feelings for each other grow, and they soon find themselves in a romantic relationship.
The two eventually discover that Charlene was framed by a corrupt lawyer, and they must work together to bring him down. With the help of Peter’s two children and a few of Charlene’s old friends, they are able to expose the lawyer’s schemes and prove Charlene’s innocence.
In the end, Peter and Charlene are able to get justice and find love, and they live happily ever after.
