Charles is soon drawn into the world of the Flyte family, and their ancestral home, Brideshead Castle.
Charles and Sebastian become close friends, and Charles is welcomed into the Flyte family. He meets the family’s matriarch, Lady Marchmain (Emma Thompson), and her children, Julia (Hayley Atwell) and Cordelia (Felicity Jones). Charles falls in love with Julia, and their relationship is tested by the family’s religious beliefs and social conventions.
Meanwhile, Charles is also struggling to come to terms with his own feelings about his father, who abandoned him and his mother when he was a child. As Charles’s relationship with the Flyte family deepens, he is forced to confront the secrets of his past and his own feelings of guilt and regret.
The film follows Charles and the Flytes as they navigate through the trials and tribulations of
