Synopsis – What to Expect from “Brewster’s Millions”
Brewster’s Millions follows the story of Montgomery Brewster (Richard Pryor), a down-on-his-luck former minor league baseball player. After learning that he is the sole beneficiary of a $300 million inheritance from his long-lost great-uncle, Brewster finds himself in a unique situation. In order to receive the full inheritance, he must spend $30 million in 30 days, with no luxuries or investments allowed.
Brewster is given a team of advisors to help him manage the money, including a lawyer (John Candy) and a financial advisor (Lonette McKee). He quickly realizes that spending so much money in such a short amount of time is no easy task. He embarks on a wild spending spree, buying everything from a hot air balloon to a pet monkey.
Throughout his mission, Brewster is followed by a tabloid reporter (Stephen Collins) and a rival claimant to the inheritance (Randy Quaid). As the clock ticks down, Brewster finds himself running out of ideas and money. He must find a way to meet the challenge before time runs out, or he will lose the inheritance and his newfound wealth.
Brewster’s Millions is a lighthearted comedy that follows Brewster’s adventures as he attempts to spend the money in the allotted time. Along the way, he learns valuable lessons about money, friendship, and the importance of family.
