Synopsis/Plot
Brazil is a 1985 dystopian science fiction film directed by Terry Gilliam and written by Gilliam, Charles McKeown, and Tom Stoppard. The film stars Jonathan Pryce as Sam Lowry, a government employee who is caught in a bureaucratic nightmare as he searches for a woman he has seen in a dream.
The film follows Sam’s journey through a surreal, bureaucratic world where paperwork and bureaucracy are a way of life. Sam’s quest leads him to a mysterious woman named Jill Layton, who may or may not be the woman from his dream. As Sam searches for Jill, he discovers a world of corruption and manipulation, and he must confront the reality of his life and his place in it.

The population is controlled through a series of surveillance cameras and a computerized central control system.
