Synopsis – What to Expect from “Book of Blood”
Book of Blood is a 2009 horror film directed by John Harrison and starring Jonas Armstrong, Sophie Ward and Doug Bradley. The film is based on Clive Barker’s novella of the same name, and tells the story of a paranormal investigator who discovers a book that contains the stories of the dead, written in their own blood.
The story follows Mary Florescu (Sophie Ward), a paranormal investigator hired by a wealthy couple to investigate a haunted house. Mary soon discovers that the house is the site of a portal to the afterlife, and that the walls are covered with the stories of the dead, written in their own blood. She is aided in her investigation by Simon McNeal (Jonas Armstrong), a student of the paranormal who has been having visions of the dead.
As Mary and Simon investigate the house, they uncover a terrifying secret: the house is a gateway to Hell, and the only way to close the portal is to write the Book of Blood. With the help of a mysterious priest (Doug Bradley), Mary and Simon must battle the forces of the afterlife to close the portal and save the world.
