Synopsis/Plot

Bombshell is a 2019 American drama film directed by Jay Roach and written by Charles Randolph. The film stars Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, John Lithgow, Malcolm McDowell, and Connie Britton. It is based on the true story of the Fox News scandal of 2016, in which former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the network’s then-CEO, Roger Ailes.

The film follows Carlson (Theron) and her colleague Megyn Kelly (Robbie) as they attempt to stand up to the powerful and influential Ailes (Lithgow). Along the way, they are joined by other female Fox News employees, including Kayla PospisPospisil (Kidman), who also face harassment and discrimination from Ailes and his team. As the women fight for justice and fair treatment, they become the target of a smear campaign by the network and its powerful figures. Despite the obstacles and pressures, the women ultimately stand up for their rights and fight to make a difference in the workplace.
