Synopsis – What to Expect from “Body Bags”
Body Bags is a 1993 horror anthology film directed by John Carpenter and Tobe Hooper. It follows three separate stories, all of which are connected by a mysterious coroner, played by John Carpenter himself.
The first story follows a young woman named Becky, who is being followed by a mysterious man in a dark suit. She is eventually kidnapped and taken to an old abandoned hospital, where she is subjected to a series of horrific experiments. After being rescued by the coroner, she discovers that the man in the suit is actually a serial killer, and the experiments were meant to create an immortal being.
The second story follows a young man named Tommy, who is suffering from a rare form of cancer. He is taken to the same hospital, where he is subjected to a series of treatments that eventually cure him. However, he soon discovers that the treatments have caused him to become a zombie-like creature, and he must now find a way to control his new state of being.
The third story follows a young couple, Mark and Linda, who are having car trouble on a dark and stormy night. They take shelter in an old farmhouse, where they discover the remains of a body in a body bag. As they investigate further, they discover that the body is actually that of the serial killer from the first story.
The three stories eventually come together in an unexpected way, as the coroner reveals his true identity and reveals the purpose of the experiments.
