Synopsis – What to Expect from “Bobby”
Bobby is a 2006 romantic drama directed by Emilio Estevez. It is set in the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles on the day of the 1968 California presidential primary. The film follows the lives of 22 different characters, including a young couple, a hotel worker, and a starlet, as they all experience the day in their own unique ways.
The young couple, Sandy and Diane, are in love and are planning to get married. However, their relationship is tested when Diane’s conservative father refuses to give his blessing. Meanwhile, a hotel worker named Elizabeth is struggling to make ends meet and is desperate to find a better job.
The starlet, April, is a famous actress who is in town for the primary. She is trying to escape a troubled past and is looking for a fresh start.
At the same time, a young man named Bobby is attending college and is trying to figure out what he wants to do with his life. He is torn between his dreams of becoming a doctor and his love for music.
As the day progresses, the lives of these characters intertwine and their stories become intertwined. Bobby and April come to realize that they have a lot in common and eventually fall in love. Meanwhile, Sandy and Diane’s relationship is put to the test as they struggle to reconcile their different backgrounds.
The film culminates with the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy, an event that affects each of the characters in different ways
