Synopsis/Plot
Blues Brothers 2000 is a 1998 American musical comedy film that is the sequel to the 1980 film The Blues Brothers. The film stars Dan Aykroyd, John Goodman, Joe Morton, J. Evan Bonifant, and Kathleen Freeman, and features cameos by many musicians. The film follows the adventures of Elwood Blues and his new band, The Blues Brothers 2000, as they try to save the orphanage where Elwood was raised from foreclosure. Along the way, they must deal with a rival band, the Louisiana Gator Boys, and a vengeful ex-fiancée.
The film opens with Elwood Blues, now out of prison, reuniting with his brother Jake, who had gone missing after the events of the first film. Elwood is determined to reunite the original Blues Brothers band, but discovers that most of the members have died or moved on. He is forced to form a new band, The Blues Brothers 2000, made up of several new members, including the young, streetwise Buster, the soulful singer and saxophonist Murph, and the vivacious singer and dancer Rita.
