Synopsis – What to Expect from “Blood Quantum”
Blood Quantum is a 2019 horror-thriller set in a remote First Nations reserve in Canada. The story follows the Red Crow Mi’gMaq tribe as they fight for their survival against an apocalyptic plague that is turning the dead into zombie-like creatures.
The movie begins with a group of Red Crow Mi’gMaq tribe members led by Chief Traylor (Michael Greyeyes) attempting to protect their land from the encroaching apocalypse. Traylor is determined to keep the tribe safe, and he enlists his son, Joseph (Forrest Goodluck), to help him protect the borders of the reserve.
Joseph soon discovers that the plague is not only killing the living, but it is also turning the dead into zombies. With the help of his friend, Lysol (Kiowa Gordon), Joseph sets out to find a way to protect the tribe from the hordes of undead.
Meanwhile, Traylor and the other tribe members are struggling to keep the infected away from the reserve. They are forced to make difficult decisions about who to let in and who to turn away.
As the infection spreads, the tribe is left with no other choice but to fight for their survival. They must find a way to protect their land and their people before the plague consumes them all.
