Synopsis – What to Expect from “Blinded by the Light”
Blinded by the Light is a heartwarming coming-of-age story set in the summer of 1987. Javed, a Pakistani teen living in the town of Luton, England, is struggling to fit in and find his place in the world. His traditional father and class issues at school make it hard for him to find his own identity. But when Javed discovers the music of Bruce Springsteen, he finds himself inspired to write his own music and express himself.
The film follows Javed as he navigates the challenges of adolescence and his newfound love of music. With the help of his best friend Matt and the guidance of his teacher, Javed discovers his own voice and learns to express himself through his writing. He even begins to defy his father’s expectations and pursue his own dreams.
As Javed’s music begins to take shape, he finds himself being noticed by others, and even starts to win over the girl of his dreams. But his newfound success also brings with it a new set of challenges and obstacles. Javed must find the courage and strength to stand up for himself and fight for what he believes in.
