Synopsis – What to Expect from “Blind Fury”
Blind Fury is a 1989 action-thriller starring Rutger Hauer as Nick Parker, a blind Vietnam War veteran. Nick is a master swordsman who is on a mission to rescue his young friend, Billy, from the clutches of a dangerous mobster named Frank Devereaux.
The movie begins with Nick in Vietnam, where he is a highly decorated soldier. After being injured in a grenade explosion, he is sent home and is left blind. When he returns to the United States, he is taken in by his friend and mentor, J.T. (Terry O’Quinn). J.T. teaches Nick to use his heightened senses and martial arts skills to become a master swordsman.
Meanwhile, Billy, the son of Nick’s late Vietnam comrade, has been kidnapped by Devereaux and his henchmen. Nick sets out to rescue Billy and take down Devereaux. Along the way, he meets an old flame, Lori (Meg Foster), who helps him in his mission.
Nick and Lori track Devereaux to his hideout, an abandoned factory. Nick is able to fight off Devereaux and his men, and eventually rescues Billy. In the end, Nick defeats Devereaux and brings him to justice.
Blind Fury is an action-packed movie with plenty of thrilling fight scenes. Rutger Hauer’s portrayal of Nick is a highlight of the movie,
