Synopsis – What to Expect from “Black Rock”
Black Rock is a 2012 American thriller film directed by Katie Aselton. The film follows three childhood friends, Abby, Lou, and Sarah, who reunite for a weekend getaway on an isolated island off the coast of Maine.
Abby, a former soldier, is struggling to adjust to civilian life. She is hoping that the trip will help her reconnect with her friends and find a sense of peace.
Lou and Sarah, both married and with children, are looking for a break from their mundane lives. They are looking forward to the weekend away, but neither of them are aware that Abby is struggling with her own inner demons.
Once on the island, the group quickly realizes that they are not alone. A group of hunters, led by a man named Henry, have been on the island for some time and are not happy to have the trio intruding on their territory. Henry and his men become increasingly hostile towards the group and it is soon revealed that the hunters are in possession of a deadly secret.
The three friends are forced to fight for their lives as they attempt to escape the island. Along the way, they must confront their own inner demons and confront their own pasts.
