Synopsis/Plot
Big Fat Liar is a 2002 American teen comedy film directed by Shawn Levy and starring Frankie Muniz, Paul Giamatti, Amanda Bynes, and Amanda Detmer. The story follows a 14-year-old con artist, Jason Shepherd (Muniz), who is constantly lying and exaggerating his way out of trouble. After being caught in one of his lies, Jason is threatened with suspension from school unless he can come up with a creative writing assignment. He decides to steal an idea from Hollywood producer Marty Wolf (Giamatti) and pass it off as his own.
When Wolf discovers the theft, he demands that Jason return his stolen idea and threatens to ruin his academic future if he doesn’t comply. Jason, however, is determined to get back at Wolf and takes him on a wild ride through Hollywood that includes a wild car chase, a high-stakes poker game, and a stunt on a movie set. Along the way, Jason discovers that Wolf is not as bad as he seems and the two become unlikely allies. In the end, Jason is able to prove Wolf wrong and gets his story published.
