Synopsis – What to Expect from “Best of the Best”
Best of the Best is a 1989 martial arts action drama directed by Bob Radler and starring Eric Roberts, James Earl Jones, and Sally Kirkland.
The movie follows the story of Travis Brickley (Eric Roberts), a martial arts champion from the United States, who is invited to South Korea to compete in the Taekwondo World Championship. Travis is accompanied by his friend and mentor, Tommy Lee (James Earl Jones), who is also a martial arts champion.
Upon arriving in South Korea, Travis and Tommy quickly realize that they are up against a formidable opponent: the South Korean National Taekwondo Team. Led by the ruthless and powerful Coach Kim (Sally Kirkland), the South Korean team is determined to win the championship.
As the competition progresses, Travis and Tommy must rely on their skills and determination if they are to have any chance of defeating the South Korean team. With the odds stacked against them, Travis and Tommy must find a way to overcome their opponents and prove that they are the best of the best.
The movie culminates in a dramatic final match between the two teams, with Travis and Tommy emerging triumphant. In the end, Travis and Tommy prove that they are the best of the best, and the South Korean team is defeated. The movie ends with Travis and Tommy being honored as champions.
