Best Dual Screen Laptops: Buyer’s Guide
While the benefits of dual-screen laptops are far more than conventional single-screen laptops, some key aspects need to be considered before you jump right in with a purchase.
Response Rates: A dual-screen laptop would require higher processing power meaning slower response rates. A single display device with similar specifications will relatively be faster than a dual-screen device. Hence, if you are going for applications requiring higher processing power, consider purchasing the laptop with the latest processor. (We do have a couple down below!)
Keyboard Size: Since these devices offer a second display just above the keyboard, be prepared for a tougher time hitting your typing speed and accuracy. Large hands can spell a similar difficulty. Fret not though, we’ll soon have larger dual-screen laptops with regular-sized keyboards.
Pricing: Pricing for dual-screen laptops varies as per the display resolutions, higher RAMs, and top processors. However, they are quite high, obviously so considering this is a whole new range of devices. Start with at least $1500 in the bank!
Damage Risks: Dual-screen laptops are more than one fixture, and the higher the number of hinges, the greater the risk for damage in case of handling or other accidents. While laptops aren’t damaged proof, dual-screen laptops are more susceptible to damage and need to be handled with utmost care for prolonged usage.
Now that the basics are covered, let’s finally head to the business end of things. Here are the 5 best dual-screen laptops in 2022!

1. Asus ZenBook Pro Duo UX581 15.6
Best Dual Screen Laptop in 2020

Rated as the 2019 Amazon Editor’s Choice as the best laptop, the ASUS ZenBook Duo UX581 is the bigger (and better) sibling of the other ZenBook Duo we have on this list.
First things first, this is one of the most powerful laptops money can buy. Powered by an Intel 9th generation Core-i9 5 GHz processor and a 32 GB 2666 MHz RAM, it also comes with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 sporting 6 GB of DDR6 RAM. It’s a wonder how ASUS got so much into such a slim design, that too, with two displays.
As for the displays, you get a 4K UHD 15.6-inch primary touch display and the 4K 14-inch secondary display, the ScreenPad Plus as ASUS likes to call it. There is no better display spec you can expect from any laptop.
Despite the small keyboard, typing is made easier by the innovative design of all ZenBooks thanks to the hinged back that creates a helpful slant. Sure, seems like ASUS has hit all the points.
Priced at just under $3000, this is the perfect dual-display laptop that can do a good job of almost everything – from high-end gaming to graphics designing or audio mixing.
This is our first choice without a doubt and there is little we can say against it. Just keep an eye out for overheating though.

Dual Screen Laptops: Intel’s Concept

Intel’s Honeycomb Glacier and Twin River prototypes are only available if Santa Claus somehow gets a hand on it though we doubt that too. Showcased in top tech shows around the globe, Intel is banking heavily on the dual-hinged dual-screen design.
A major highlight on these laptops is the eco-friendly fabric external casing, a polyester polyamide lycra textile combination. Cost-effective for starters, laptops with fabric exteriors does somehow seem more relatable now that someone’s done it!
Although just a concept, we may get to see these affordable dual-screen laptops from Intel soon. Expect a large range of configurations including affordable ones. Check out the design, there are two displays on either side and that’s it.
No touchpad or keyboard. Considering we are already used to similar tech on our smartphones, Intel may have a point here. Either way, a brave move, and perhaps the next big thing to happen in the tech space, you may end up with a dual-screen laptop within 3 years from now!
Conclusion
Dual-screen laptops are straight-up expensive devices. It is not something you can get on a budget. The better features you need, the more money you will have to spend. But one thing is quite clear, the features you get in a dual-screen laptop are far superior, and these devices offer an extreme level of multitasking abilities in a small space. This is the future of laptop designs. Perhaps you should get one today just to stay ahead of the curve!
