Synopsis – What to Expect from “Benji the Hunted”
Benji the Hunted is a family adventure drama released in 1987.
The movie follows the story of an orphaned cougar cub named Benji who is forced to fend for himself in the wilds of Oregon after his mother is killed by a hunter. Benji is taken in by a kindly park ranger and his family, and he quickly adapts to his new life in the wilderness.
Benji’s peaceful existence is threatened when a government-sponsored program to reintroduce cougars to the wild begins. The program’s leader, Dr. Frank Stewart, is determined to capture Benji and use him as a model for the project.
Benji must use all of his cunning and resourcefulness to evade capture, and he finds help from an unlikely ally: a local boy named David. David and his family befriend Benji and help him outwit Dr. Stewart and his team of hunters.
The two boys form a strong bond as they work together to protect Benji and keep him safe from harm. Along the way, they learn the importance of friendship, loyalty, and courage.
In the end, Benji manages to outsmart Dr. Stewart and his team and remain free in the wild. The film ends with Benji and David watching the cougars that have been released into the wild, and the two boys contentedly watching the animals roam free.
